(Mimosa pudica) Touch-me-not

Innumerable varieties of Touch-Me-Not trees grow in the Mediterranean area and the Canary Islands. They are cultivated as ornamental trees, to fix the soil and to make perfumes. They have adapted to some areas and they grow wild. The branches of this variety hang and their slender lanceolate leaves can reach 20 centimeters long. Their fresh-scented flowers grow at the point of union of the leaves with the tree. The bunches of flowers are composed by brilliant yellow buttons of 5 to 10 millimeters in diameter.
