(Sonchus acaulis)
Milk Thistle is an endemic plant (i.e., with very marked geographical limits) of the Canary Islands. It can be found in ravines, on the plateau margins and in areas inhabited by succulent plants. It can be recognized by its structure and its hairy herbaceous leaves and pinatilobuladas that draw a giant rosette on the soil of up to 60 cm long. Bunches are mostly between 2.5 and 4.5 cm wide, the husks are thick, white and velvety. Its external similarity with the dandelion is extraordinary, their only difference is that Milk Thistle is about 2 to 2.5 meters tall which makes it much bigger than dandelions.
