Flamingo

Flamingos are strong and capable to survive even in high temperatures and in salty or alkaline environments. Flamingos are specialists in nutrition; they can fish tiny plants and animals from the water due to their down curved beak. Adults range from light pink to bright red due to the small crabs they eat, which contain the natural pigment carotene. Flamingos are very sociable animals that live together in colonies. It is also amazing to observe the birds dancing together. Many animals stretch the neck and open their wings to create the favorable environment. They build their nests in the mud with an exact separation of 1.5 meters. They are a mound of mud of about 30cm with a depression in the middle. Though they are not territorial, they build their nests out of the reach of the beak of the neighbors so that they can defend their chicks. They lay an egg that is hatched by both parents. After 27 to 31 days, the chick hatches out. Both parents take care of it for approximately two weeks. As soon as they can walk and swim, they flock together in large groups and their parents continue feeding them but other adult animals watch them. Flamingo´s lifespan is about 50 years, but in order to survive they depend on natural protected areas.

Flamingo in Mythology: About 5,000 years ago the Egyptians did some drawings of flamingos. They venerated ibises and flamingos as sacred animals and emissaries of God. They also play an important role in the mythology of India, where it is said that the river goddess Saraswati considered them as sacred.

Interpretation of dreams: If you dream of these animals, it can mean that you are spending too much time daydreaming and unaware you are wasting a lot of opportunities of finding your happiness.
