Anacondas together with boas and pythons belong to the giant snakes that kill their prey by constriction before devouring it. Unlike other snakes, these do not have poisonous teeth and they are much larger. They originally descend from animals with limbs, of which there are still some rudimentary parts on the skeleton. The anaconda, which can measure about 10 to 12 meters (32.80 to 39.37ft) and reach a weight of approximately 551.16lb (250 k), is the largest snake on Earth. It has a scaly green-blackish skin and spends most of its time in the water, where it can stalk its prey. The eyes and nostrils are placed on top of the head, so it can see and breathe when it is hunting underwater. It prefers areas with thick vegetation on the shores, where it can approach its prey without being noticed. Anacondas hunt mainly at night.

Anaconda in Mythology: There is no other animal in the Amazon over which the native people retell more stories and horror stories than of this legendary giant snake. A myth told by native people of the Guianas says that when a group of them went out in search of more suitable places to settle, they went through swamps and jungles, until they encountered a mysterious wall, which they could not go through. So, according to the legend, they walked for two days along the same, until they get to it, where they saw the huge head of the anaconda. The natives of Peru call the anaconda "yucca mama", mother of the waters, which took care of the rivers and lakes and devoured anyone who would dare enter their sanctuaries.

Dreams: It can be a spiritual counselor. It can help us by bringing light to our shadow.

Anaconda essence gives us great strength and mobility. The anaconda is highly spiritual and it gives us wisdom and goodness.

On the body level: It gives us great strength and power of regeneration. In the same way that it is able to shed its old skin, it also helps us with skin problems and with our self-healing processes.

Emotional: It emanates a highly sexual and erotic attraction. We feel comfortable with our body even regarding to an erotic contact, it makes everything to flow freely and it helps us let things happen. It can stimulate our self-healing power and it can help us rid of old patterns of behavior, to continue with our evolution.

On the spiritual level: Although people are afraid of Anacondas and panic when they see one, the anaconda is a highly spiritual animal. It is the animal that could move from its origin to the present through the tree of the world toward the top. It is healing in its maximum exponent (Asclepius), it frees us from old energy, which we do no longer need and it sharpens our vision for the essential thing. The Anaconda is the caretaker of the ancient teachings and wisdom. For us, it can be a counselor and a guide; it can appear in our dreams and join us in our spiritual development. It connects us to the sacred aspects of sexuality, it is in touch with the cosmos and it is very sad because humanity has forgotten the respect for Creation. It wants to remind us that we must preserve God's Creation. It connects us to our dark side and it helps us accept it and heal it. It removes the layers of our conscience in the matrix and it has the goal and the strength to carry wisdom and light up to the deepest reasons of our shadow.
