Scorpions belong to the order of arachnids. There are approximately 1,400 species all over the world. They can measure between 0.035in to 9.44in (0,09 to 24 centimeters). They live mainly on sandy soil in the tropics, semi-deserts and deserts.

Scorpion in Mythology:

In Greek mythology it is said that Artemis, the goddess of hunting, ordered a scorpion to kill the Hunter Orion, as he had planned to kill all the animals. According to another version, the jealous Apollo sent a scorpion, because Artemis felt affection for Orion. In other stories, the scorpion is related to Phaeton, the mortal son of the Sun-God, Helios. Phaeton convinced his father to let him the Sun Chariot pulled by fiery horses. When the horses saw the celestial scorpion with its deadly sting raised to strike they run away desperately. Eventually, Zeus was forced to intervene by striking the runaway chariot and Phaeton with a lightning bolt to put an end to its rampage and Phaeton plunged into the River Eridanos. Chinese people consider the scorpion as a benevolent dragon, whose appearance announces the spring. Scorpios constellation was known in the pre-Columbian Mayan culture. The scorpion in the interpretation of dreams: It represents destructive emotions, thoughts and words. We have to ask ourselves where in our lives we are willing to express our authority and strength.

Scorpion Essence was made with yellow Negev Desert Scorpion. There, the people take a black scorpion, alive, burn it to use its ashes for ophthalmologic ailments, such as cataracts, in which case they sprinkled it on the lower eyelid of the patient for a period of ten days. This idea has its origin in the Middle Ages in the teachings of Rabbi Maimonides, better known as Rambam and who lived in Andalucía.
