Morpho Butterfly Essence

The Blue Morpho is a butterfly of the family Nymphalidae (Nymphalidae). Due to his flights range from 9.5 cm to 12 cm, he is classified as belonging to the class of larger moths. It can be found at heights of up to 1400 meters. Moths feed on fermenting fruit and they fly with their typical bobbing flight to woodlands, along roadsides or along rivers. The females are particularly active at noon, they lay their eggs on a leaf surface from the forage. The hatching caterpillars are dotted yellow and red, and eat the leaves of the plant for 4 months until they go into the pupation stage and develop into new butterflies. This kind of butterflies are currently threatened due to the conditions of the location where they are found and the high interest of collectors.
