Bison

(Bison bonasus)

The European bison is closely related to the American bison. Both species were heavily hunted. Currently, the American bison lives only in two national parks (Yellowstone in the United States and Wood Buffalo in Canada). In the wild, the European bison is found only in the Bialowieza Forest placed on the border between Poland and Belarus. It can reach 11.15ft (3.4m) long and weigh up to 920kg.

Bison in Mythology: Bison were depicted in numerous paintings in caves and rocks of ancient European cultures. Until the arrival of the white man, the American bison was considered the King of the prairies. For the indigenous people, the bison was sacred. The rhythm of their lives depended on the migration of these animals, which offered them meat, bones and skin for their clothing and tents. The shamans of the indigenous people joined spiritually with the strength of the bison, which represented wisdom, abundance and wealth. They especially worshiped the white bison, of which one was born some years ago in Wisconsin. One of the many indigenous myths says that in the early days there was a couple of buffalos on the earth, who created the variety of the animal Kingdom. In its summer dance, indigenous people invoked the forces of the bison, so that it provided the dancers with strength and resistance.

The Bison in the interpretation of dreams: here bison or buffalo represents abundance and excess, otherwise, it can also be an indication of loss of power or loss in general.

Bison Essence: The bison has a great wisdom within itself. It helps us learn from our experiences and to get some conclusions for our future life.

On the body level: The bison essence gives us strength and endurance. We learn how to use our energy reserves and thus we can also overcome difficult times.

On the emotional level: This essence enriches us with the feeling that we are going to improve our situation. It gives us the certainty that the absenteeism of something is not a permanent state, and we will recognize our strength and we will find the path towards abundance.

On the spiritual level: Bison is a teacher who teaches us to listen patiently and trust our wisdom. Bison essence reminds us of the existence of God and it tells us that we can always rely on Him. We will understand our mistakes and will be able to learn from them.
