Aspen

(Populus tremula)

Aspen grows on humid soils of pastures, near water or in swampy woodland in Central Europe and Asia, up to the Polar Circle. It is a thin tree with a gray silver plain bark. It can reach 20 meters high and it is unusual to find it isolated. The jagged leaves, between round and oval, are attached to the tree by a smoothed petiole. The flowers bloom at the same point in which the leaves sprout.
