Scleranthus quietly grows on sandy dry acidic soils. This simple herb is year round but it is becoming increasingly rare. It is characterized for its thorny small leaves oppositely arranged in pairs. Its graygreen flowers of 4 mm in diameter have no petals and bloom from June to September.

Scleranthus is indicated when we hesitate between two extremes.
