Beech trees can be found forming luminous forests throughout Europe. It is a tree of considerable size that can reach 30 meters high. It has a smooth bark of gray tones. The tree canopy casts a dense shadow, and so, very few plants grow under it. Its sparsely toothed elliptical leaves are grouped in pairs. Beech trees blossom in April and May, shortly after the new leaves sprout.
