Common Puffball - Flaschenstäubling

(Lycoperdon perlatum)

This mushroom of 8 centimeters of height is found very often in woodlands and coniferous forests. It reproduces itself between July and November and it has a characteristic shape of an inverted bottle or light bulb. During the early stages of its growth, it is white and it has strong spines which fall off easily. Further on, it acquires a yellowish brown tone and it has a small opening in the crown.
