(Passiflora bryonoides)

The origins of the passionflower are found in South America. Nowadays this perennial climber is cultivated. Its name was given by catholic priests who discovered it in their original habitat. This plant grows on welldrained soils but also on stony ones. From May until late July it produces some showy and complicated flowers of white, pink, blue or violet colour. In 1867, it was incorporated in the book of healing plants of America. Its fruits are edible, refreshing and invigorating.
