Bistort - Knöterich

(Polygonum bistorta)

Arising from an underground rhizome, the bistort appears in spring. During the summer, it opens its light pink flowers which have no petals and have the shape of a spike and they open at the end of the stem. This plant of European origin can be found on moist soil, high meadows, close to the water and in mixed forests.
